Freddie Prinze Jr., Jennifer Love Hewitt, Sarah Michelle Gellar and Ryan Phillippe headlined the first “Remember…Last Summer.”
CINEMA – Enough to excite all fans of Remember… last summer. A reboot of the franchise, scheduled for release in theaters on July 18, 2025, is being filmed, with director Jennifer Kaytin Robinson but also actors Freddie Prinze Jr. and Jennifer Love Hewitt. But Sarah Michelle Gellar, also an actress in the first film, has just posted an image from the shoot.
It was on Instagram that the interpreter of Helen Shivers in the 1997 feature film published a photo of a director's chair on the back of which is marked I Know What You Did Last Summer (the title of the franchise in original language).

And if she specifies in story simply visit “to my man Freddie Prinze Jr. and my girlfriend Jennifer Kaytin Robinson”, It was no less necessary to resurface speculation around a return of Sarah Michelle Gellar in the new Remember… last summer.
Especially since her husband, whom she met on the set of the first slasher, and Jennifer Love Hewitt respectively reprise their roles as Ray Bronson and Julie James in the reboot which does not yet officially have a title.
A « canon » reboot
But it's hard to see how the actress could reprise her cult role from the 90s when her character ends up dying at the end of the first film.
Jennifer Kaytin Robinsin also took the opportunity to make a humorous point about the situation in her own story. Reposting her friend's photo, she added “before you send me a private message, she refuses to not be dead”.

If rumors around a “non-canon” episode (which would not take into account the previous parts) have long been prevalent, the director herself denied them on her social networks last July, as reported then The Hollywood Reporter.
In the description of her publication, Sarah Michelle Gellar also announced the (false) return of Scooby Doo 3, a fictional sequel to the two comedies from the early 2000s. She played Daphne, once again alongside her husband Freddie Prinze Jr. who played Fred.
