Jean-Marc Morandini was tried in two cases at the Paris Court of Appeal. His trial for corruption of minors on the one hand and the other part of his morals affair, known as false castings. On site every day since Monday November 25, 2024, his fate will soon be determined.
Jean-Marc Morandini already convicted of sexual harassment, heavier sentence required
Remember that the 59-year-old host was summoned to the courthouse to answer initial accusations concerning a false casting organized with the aim of obtaining sexual favors from young men, apprentice actors. In August 2023, he was sentenced to six months in prison for sexual harassment, with obligation to provide psychological care and three years of ineligibility. His production company Don't Skip! was fined 10,000 euros for concealed work. Monday November 25 and Tuesday November 26, Jean-Marc Morandini was present at the court of appeal for this case. The attorney general requested an aggravation of the sentencethus requesting 18 months of probationary suspension, a 20,000 euro fine from the host and a 50,000 euro fine from the production company. We will have to wait until January 27 for the judgment in the case.
Minor corruption case: Jean-Marc Morandini set for next March
The next day, Wednesday November 27, he spent more than nine hours at the Paris Court of Appeal. He was also there to appeal a court decision taken in December 2022: he had been sentenced to a one-year suspended prison sentence for “corruption of minors” and his registration in the automated judicial file of perpetrators of sexual and violent offenses for acts dating from 2009 to 2016. Nearly two years later, a one-year suspended prison sentence was required but this time with 3 years of probation instead of 2 during his conviction at first instance. The decision was deliberated on March 7, 2025. The host will therefore be decided on his fate in a few months.
Jean-Marc Morandini emaciated in court
As revealed by our colleagues at ParisianJean-Marc Morandini appeared emaciated in front of the court and Francis Szpiner, lawyer for one of the plaintiffs and former mayor of the 16th arrondissement of Paris, now senator. Remember that the host is accused of having sent dozens of SMS messages between 2013 and 2016 to two young minors aged 16 and 15 at the time. He talked to them about sex and even asked for photos of their penises and of them naked. Upon discovering these messages, the father of the first even took legal action before withdrawing his complaint. A third complainant was on site: he was approached by the television figure via a casting site with the aim of filming a film prohibited for under 18s. It was at Jean-Marc Morandini's home that they met, where he set up his offices, and the man allegedly asked him to get naked and masturbate. First request accepted but not the second, which pushed the young man to leave the premises. Facts that the accused does not remember but which he does not deny.
Jean-Marc Morandini is presumed innocent of the facts with which he is accused until the final closure of the two cases. This is also the reason why he remains, for the moment, on the air of CNEWS.
