Ricky Starks hasn't made his return yet, and he seems to be getting impatient.
AEW
Ricky Starks is bored at home, and is more than motivated than ever to make his comeback.
Ricky Starks has spoken out about his absence from AEW screens. While we learned via Fightful that his contract will end in the spring of 2025 – the promotion having initiated the option year of the wrestler's contract to keep him, and that he was present backstage at AEW Full Gear on Saturday, Starks responded to an interview on the Insight with Chris Van Vliet podcast about his absence.
“I was at home, in good health. I have never been injured. I had a brachial plexus injury during the match against Top Flight in March. I was immediately examined and everything was fine, but I was worried at the time.”he said. “That’s what happened and I stayed home. And that’s kind of how it happened. I stayed at home. It's a headache because I'm at my best and it sucks when you're on such a roll, you're riding the wave, you're working and doing lots of things, and you're staying home. for so long. It disrupts everything, you know? »
“I’m not meant to stay at home. I'm not supposed to be a homebody. » deplores the 34-year-old wrestler. “In this phase of my life, I'm not supposed to sit at home and take it easy and not do what I've been killing myself doing for 13 years. »

A punishment from AEW? Unthinkable for Ricky Starks
Ricky Starks says he has several theories as to why he's not being used by AEW, but he doesn't want to get too far ahead or speculate on things he's not sure about. No way for him to think that he was punished for anything either. “I don’t think that’s the case.”he assures. “I don't think it ever crossed my mind to say, 'You're being punished,' because it wouldn't do me any good to think like that, would it? Because it wouldn’t do me any good to think like that,” Starks replied. “I would be depressed and angry. It wouldn't do me any good. »
Starks has meanwhile made several public appearances in recent weeks. We could see him in particular this weekend at GCW where he spoke in front of the public to thank them and suggest that he will return for a few dates in the independent promotion with a match against Matt Cardonna on December 14. He will also be at the House of Glory on January 17.
As for its future, we do not yet know where it will take place. Ricky Starks is close to talents like Jade Cargill or Cody Rhodes whom he visited backstage at WrestleMania 40, and according to Fightful the wrestler was ready to become a free agent and raise the stakes for his next contract.
