Elton John is a true living music legend. A prodigy pianist from a very young age, he is known for such timeless classics as “Your Song,” “Rocket Man,” but also “Candle in the Wind.” His flamboyant style, extravagant costumes and energetic stage performances made him famous. His fans have nevertheless been very worried since he announced that he had suffered from an eye infection… The 77-year-old singer spoke of a complicated healing process and things do not seem to be getting better.
Elton John faces eye infection
It was via a message posted on his Instagram account that Sir Elton John revealed, a few months ago, to his millions of fans that he was not in good shape. “During the summer I had a serious eye infection which unfortunately left me with limited vision in one eye. I'm healing. But it's a very slow process. It will take some time before sight returns to the affected eye“, he admitted. Feeling indebted, he wanted to thank the medical team who surrounds and follows him. “I am very grateful to the excellent team of doctors and nurses and my family, who took great care of me over the past few weeks,” we could have read.
The singer tries to get back on track
“I feel confident about the progress I have made so far in my recovery,” he declared optimistically. While he is currently promoting his documentary “Never Too Late”which will be available for streaming on Disney+ on December 13, he admitted that unfortunately he was not getting better… The singer even has difficulty creating his next album since he cannot see the lyrics. “I don't know anything about it. It's been a long time since I've done anything. Unfortunately, I lost the sight in my right eye last July because I had an infection in the South of France.”he first confided in his interview with journalist Robin Roberts for the show “Good Morning America” on the ABC channel.
And to specify: “I haven’t seen for four months. And my left eye isn’t in the best shape either”. Even though there is “hope and encouragement that everything will be okay”; the artist remains “rather stuck” since he cannot “go to the studio and record”. “We are taking an initiative to try to get better. But right now, that's the thing we're focusing on. It's never a chance that such a thing would happen. And it devastated me a little: I can't see anything, read anything, watch anything.”regretted Elton John. Then the latter concludes: “I am the luckiest person in the world. I am proud of my sons, of my attitude towards myself. I am just very lucky and grateful”.
