It's been eight years since Amine Mojito published anything, and we can't say that we really missed him. Remember, in the mid-2010s, Illan Magneron, his real name, created a buzz on social networks – notably Snapchat and Périscope – with videos that were problematic to say the least. He filmed himself whipping women with belts and other humiliating practices. Degrading videos with thousands of views which earned him a complaint from the Feminist Collective Against Rape (CFCV) in 2016.

Although he has since disappeared from social networks, Amine Mojito – against whom none of the women appearing in the videos has filed a complaint – has not escaped justice. After six years of legal proceedings, he was convicted in 2021 for provoking discrimination, violence and hatred against a group of people based on their sex. His sentence: complete a five-day awareness training course on gender equality.
