THE ” last holidays “ by Fabrice Luchini

The newspaper Le Figaro reports the comments of the actor who, worried about global warming and rising waters, confides that he had to part with his holiday home: “Ecology is not nothing. We are going to die, that’s almost certain, said Fabrice Luchini. There won’t be La Rochelle anymore in about fifteen years. I sold my house because the guy told me that in twelve years, there won’t be any more Île de Ré. I felt that I had to get away. In twelve, fifteen years, there won’t be any more Île de Ré, no more Noirmoutier, there won’t be anything left! The sea will rise (…) So it was the last vacation. Born in the 9th arrondissement of Paris, Fabrice Luchini lives in the 18th arrondissement of Paris, after spending his childhood in the Goutte-d’Or district. In addition to his house on the Île de Ré, which he is selling, the actor owns a country house in Loir-et-Cher. Will he invest in a new property for his next vacation?

Could Fabrice Luchini’s house have been saved from erosion?

A vast action plan has begun on the Île de Ré following the storms that occurred last November. Safety work will be undertaken, the State having given the green light. In a report by Céline Serrano and Jean Colonna published on France 3 Régions, the president of the Communauté des Communes de l’île de Ré, Lionel Quillet explains: ” We are in resilient protection, we will not protect everything, it is simply when there is a risk for people. We are perfectly in the spirit of the island of Ré. 80% of unbuildable territory, 100% protection. “For the time being, three sites will be the subject of intervention in 2024: ” In Saint-Clément-des-Baleines, the coastal path located in the Bas-Rhin sector will be restored. In La Couarde-sur-Mer, in the Moulin-Brûlé sector, two groynes will be created to retain sediment and combat erosion. Finally, in Portes-en-Ré, the blockhouse located in the “La Redoute” sector will be dismantled. Located on a dune weakened by the waves, it represents a danger for walkers. Its fall could also tear away a portion of the dune.. »
