For several years, the relationship between King Charles III and Prince Harry has been complicated. Since his departure in 2020, Meghan Markle’s husband has distanced himself from his family and now lives in the United States. While for some, a reconciliation seemed impossible between the father and his sonthings would have changed.
Indeed, King Charles III is now reportedly keen to visit Prince Harry and his grandchildren in the United States. However, Prince William and Queen Camilla are reportedly firmly opposed to this. Royal commentator Tom Quinn has revealed that Charles is determined to be and “loving grandfather for Archie and Lilibet. That might require him to make the trip to Montecito.”
Will Charles III go to the United States?
According to the royal expert, “discussions” are currently underway for Charles III to undertake “a private visit” in the United States. He explained: “He’s desperate to see them and hates the idea that Archie and Lilibet won’t remember him as the warm, friendly grandfather he wants to be.”
Prince Harry and Charles III have been on bad terms for several years.
A source also said that the king “feels a little better” since announcing his cancer a few months ago. This potentially opens the way to a “family confrontation to resolve ongoing disputes.” According to this source, the father and son seem tired of this conflict: “This row has gone on for too long. Charles is eager to resolve it but he knows it has to be on Harry and Meghan’s turf, particularly if he wants to see his grandchildren.”
Prince Harry supports the idea
For his part, Prince Harry is “open” at the idea that his father visit him in Montecito. He knows, however, that Queen Camilla and Prince William seem more cautious about such a trip. And for good reason, King Charles III is still undergoing treatment for his cancer.
