The filmmakers Benoît Jacquot and Jacques Doillon, accused of sexual violence, were placed in police custody this Monday morning in Paris, in the premises of the minor protection brigade, - learned from a source close to the matter. They are questioned in particular by the actress Judith Godrèche and the actress Isild Le Besco.

Several accusations

At the beginning of February, Judith Godrèche filed a complaint for rape of a minor against director Benoît Jacquot, paving the way for a new #MeToo wave in French cinema. The actress also wore complaint against director Jacques Doillonwhom she accuses of sexually abusing her on two occasions when she was a minor. A preliminary investigation was then opened.

In the process, other actresses, such as Anna Mouglalis and Isild Le Besco, have made accusations against Jacques Doillon. in the newspaper Le Monde. Isild Le Besco also filed a complaint against filmmaker Benoît Jacquot for rape of a minor.

In a press release shared this Monday, Jacques Doillon’s lawyer, Marie Dosé, judges the placement in police custody of her client as “unnecessary, disproportionate and indecent”. The two men, who dispute the various accusations.
