Bruno Vandelli convicted of corruption of a minor: Yanis Marshall’s reaction speaks volumes

In January 2024, Yanis Marshall spoke on his Instagram account. The latter addressed his fans, explaining that he had been a victim of Bruno Vandelli. He said he had filed a complaint for “aggravated rape, sexual assault and corruption of a minor”. Facts which, according to him, date back to 2004 when he was 14 years old. For his part, Bruno Vandelli was 42 years old and he gave dance lessons to the young Yanis. This Friday, June 28, the choreographer was sentenced by the courts to one year suspended prison sentence, three years disqualification from practice and damages to be paid. Jessy Bourgeois, for his part, was sentenced to an eight-month suspended sentence and a four-month ban from practicing.

As indicated the AFP, Bruno Vandelli and her ex-husband had exchanged pornographic videos with a 15-year-old student. The facts date back to 2016 and it was during a dance workshop that the couple noticed the teenager. He then wanted to get in touch with him. According to Me Cohen Sabban, Bruno Vandelli’s lawyer, they had started to exchange “private videos of a sexual nature“, later specifying: “Sexual acts showing Bruno Vandelli with his husband having intimate relations are visible”. In it, the couple could be seen performing fellatio. However, he had made it known that the teenager had sent sexual videos in return.

Bruno Vandelli: a conviction that makes Yanis Marshall react

It was the teenager’s mother who decided to file a complaint after discovering this type of content on her son’s phone. For his part, Bruno Vandelli’s lawyer tried to minimize the facts by asserting: “This story comes down to a 15-second video, that’s next to nothing. This case destroys my client. In the event of a conviction, we will appeal.” Bruno Vandelli and Jessy Bourgeois were jointly and severally ordered to pay 3,500 euros in damages to the young man and 1,500 euros to his mother.

Yanis Marshall’s speech last January was very noticed. Once the decision was made, the famous dancer immediately wanted to react on his social networks. He shared an article discussing the sentence and simply stated:
For another matter I specify! And it’s only the beginning!“. A first step that he was pleased about. In the image, we can also see the comments made by Bruno Vandelli’s lawyer. It is morality that has predominated in this decision, there is a total lack of understanding of unbridled sexual practices within the homosexual community.” she said. Enough to make Yanis Marshall react, adding disgusted emojis.

Yanis Marshall: he delivers a moving testimony

Yanis Marshall no longer wanted to remain silent. Last January, he spoke publicly to encourage other young people who had experienced the same situation to speak out in turn. On the airwaves of BFMTVhe confided having collected numerous testimonies, specifying in particular that Bruno Vandelli would not have “never arrested in 30 years. The facts are spread out between 1990 and 2023” . According to Yanis Marshall, the events took place in 2004 when he was only 14 years old. Bruno Vandelli was 42 years old and spent a lot of time with the young Yanis since he gave him lessons.

Once the case became public, Bruno Vandelli spoke through his lawyer. Joseph Cohen-Sabban first stated that his client
“completely denies having committed any rape. He is devastated at first and furious at the second. The more the accusations mount on the facts and the qualifications, the angrier he gets.” For his part, the main person concerned broke the silence, affirming
having filed a complaint against Yanis Marshall. “My complaint certainly contains what is necessary against this charade which would like to make me appear like a monster”, he wrote.
