A victory that surprised no one. Not even the candidate he faced on the night of the final. Indeed, Pierre Garnier's victory did not come as a surprise to viewers of the Star Academy last year.
If Julien Lieb was already a great artist, the public preferred to crown his sidekick as the big winner of the 2023 edition. Despite this “defeat”, Julien Lieb decided to pursue his dream and launch his career a few months ago . The former resident of the castle of Dammarie-les-Lys will soon offer an album to his community.
Julien Lieb talks about his many projects
A project he spoke about during his visit to Culture Media on Europe 1 this Wednesday, November 20, 2024. During his appearance on Thomas Isle's show, the former candidate of the Star Academy first recalled that he was preparing his tour which will start on January 12, 2025 in Lille.
If his fans welcomed the news with open arms, some still wonder what songs they will be able to listen to. In fact, apart from The Gamereleased only a few days ago, Julien Lieb has not yet released an album. Even without the release of his project, he plans to play this one, despite the fact that it is not yet commercialized.
“I made a project friends, I'm going to play my album”, confided the former candidate of the Star Academy to Thomas Isle before the latter asks him: “You’re going to play it before it’s even out.” “We played a bit like pirates”admitted Julien Lieb before adding: “I'm really a stage artist in the sense that the stage is what I prefer to do in the world, it's where I feel the best… It made me a little bit excited that the fans who had took their place before even knowing what was going to be on the concerts, rewarding them with: 'It's just for you, it's a bit of premium content'“.
Not surprised by Pierre Garnier's victory
Kamel Ouali, guest of the show, then presented him with an ingenious idea: to cover songs that he performed during his time at the Star Academy. “No. I might do some later (…) but now I really want people to re-enter my world and understand what I do musically“, finally explained the main person concerned.
Regarding his time at Star Academy, the young artist has excellent memories of it. And this, even if he already knew that Pierre Garnier was going to take the title from him. “I already knew he was going to win,” said Julien Lieb before assuring: “I didn't want to win when I arrived (…) I wanted to go all the way, but winning didn't mean much to me initially.“. In the end, the interpreter of the song Le Jeu “won everything” by not winning the final victory of the TF1 program and by launching, for good, his own career.
