This Wednesday, November 20, was held the trial of Pierre Palmade. The courtroom of the Melun court had never been so full. Proof of the importance of the session that took place there. The former comedian who caused a terrible road accident on February 10, 2023 appeared free at his trial. However, he who feared above all else going to prison couldn't escape.
The sanction was indeed up to the mark of the misfortune he caused that terrible February evening. A father and his 6-year-old son were scarred for life. While the first's sister-in-law lost her unborn child in her womb. Irreversible after-effects which justified in the eyes of justice the confinement of the former comedian. A decision which was however widely opposed by his lawyer.
The pleading of Pierre Palmade's lawyer
The verdict came in the evening after a full day of hearing. Pierre Palmade was sentenced to five years in prison including two years closed. Although he was sentenced to prison, the committal order was deferred. Probably waiting for the actor's call. He actually saw his lawyer, Me Lasek, trying to throw all his weight behind to avoid being put under arrest. Despite his very strong pleading, it was not enough to convince the president of the court.
“I need to talk to you about what my client went through. I'm tired of hearing that he gets preferential treatment. All his life at its most gloomyeven sadder, was brought to light. (…) What would be the point of him going to prison, of destroying this whole journey he started with narcotics anonymous, where he is not even anonymous. I trust in his will. In prison there won’t be all that, apart from setting an example.”
The story of the hours before the tragedy
Justice considered that this sanction was commensurate with the drama caused by the comedian. It is not in fact a simple road accident. Pierre Palmade took the wheel after three whole days of debauchery. He shattered a family's life after hitting the road under the influence of alcohol and drugs. The hours which preceded the tragedy were also recounted by a prostitute in an interview with Seven to eight. Sasha was present at the comedian before he decides to take the car.
“We celebrated, but there was an unhealthy side. Everyone was in their own corner. Everyone was trying to get their dose. There was no real sharing. We were so tired that the only thing keeping us going was taking another dose. (…) We no longer entirely know what he says and what he does. He hadn't slept in days. He was on drugs and medication. And at that moment, we think we can manage, but we don't manage anything at all.”.
