Moroccan actress Souad Saber, emblematic figure of Moroccan cinema and television, has announced her withdrawal from the Moroccan artistic scene.
The actress affirms that this decision is motivated by her desire to preserve her dignity and respect the legacy she has built during her career. The actress also spoke about the difficulties faced by aging Moroccan artists, including sometimes unfair treatment from certain producers and directors.

Souad Saber took advantage of this video to clarify the reasons for her absence in recent years, highlighting health problems which forced her to move away from film sets. “I don’t want to cause any inconvenience to directors or producers because of my difficult health condition,” she said.
Saying she was faithful to her principles, the actress said she wanted to end her career as she started it: with dignity. She notably denounced the derisory fees offered to certain actors, refusing to work for “3000 dirhams”, while other artists receive considerable sums.
