This Tuesday, November 19, Judith Godrèche announced that she was being indicted for defamation against Jacques Doillon. The actress had accused the director on Instagram of sleep with the children with whom he makes films.
The director Jacques Doillon filed a complaint for defamation against the actress in February 2024. The latter castigated “profoundly offensive remarks” to his dignity and probity.
Judith Godrèche indicted for defamation
“As it is odd deep down imagine being in that line of sight” reacted Judith Godrèche on her social networks. The actress revealed that she was being indicted for defamation against Jacques Doillon. “When you cry at home after receiving a
notice of indictment for defamation linked to the complaint filed by your attacker, that the plumber will ring any minute to repair the boiler, that you are trying to be a good actress and act as if nothing happenedt,” she wrote in a story published on her Instagram account.
The actress had accused the filmmaker of “filming with children” with whom “he sleeps” on his social networks. Jacques Doillon then had filed a complaint
against Judith Godrèche for defamation. The fifty-year-old also attacked the lawyer of her alleged attacker. According to her, the latter would have commissioned “someone to watch” his Instagram account.
Judith Godrèche accuses two directors of sexual violence
At the beginning of 2024, Judith Godrèche filed a complaint for rape of a 15 year old minor against the directors Benoît Jacquot and Jacques Doillon. Both filmmakers have since contested these accusations. The actress had a relationship with Benoît Jacquot, 25 years her senior, when she was only 14 years old.
The actress had also denounced
violence which were allegedly committed by Jacques Doillon during a filming in 1989, when she was a teenager. According to her, the director changed the casting and the script of the film to shoot a sexual scene with her. Judith Godrèche also accuses him of having
abused of her in the private sphere. These revelations had the effect of a bomb in the world of French cinema. Shortly after, actresses Julia Roy and Isild Le Besco filed complaints against Benoît Jacquot.
