Alain Delon: “It’s bogus”, his friend Véronique de Villèle debunks a legend about the actor

Alain Delon died on August 18. Aged 88, he took his last breath, peacefully in his house in Douchy alongside his loved ones” announced his children to AFP. A cinema legend who deeply marked the French with his career and who will never be forgotten. Guest of the show At Jordan's on November 4, Véronique de Villèle made some confidences about the actor. She was alongside Norbert Saada and both praised Alain Delon. “He has many faults but he has many qualities”, he began before continuing:
“I’ve met people, but I’ve never had a friendship like Alain.”

Véronique de Villèle was of the same opinion as her friend. “I never had that either,” she first said before returning to a legend which has long pursued Alain Delon. “She said he was “big mouth”, that he spoke about himself in the third person. It’s bogus, it’s false,” declares Véronique de Villèle. While some might have a negative preconception about the actor, people who were close to him openly state the opposite.
“I spent all my weekends with him, he never spoke of himself in the third person,” continues Véronique de Villèle. Confidences which highlight the fact that, despite his immense career, Alain Delon remained himself.

Véronique de Villèle: a friendship with Alain Delon which deeply touched her

Alain Delon was a cinema legend but above all he was a man and a dad. Véronique de Villèle, who was able to know him for many years, remembers going to Douchy to see a friend “in slippers. He made us chicken on the weekend” . An image which moves away from that of the great actor on the red carpet but which reminds us that Alain Delon was above all a human being like any other. For his part, Norbert Saada specifies that, upon his arrival in Douchy, he used to see the actor in his living room, “listening to opera”.

Norbert Saada and Véronique de Villèle describe Alain Delon with all simplicity. Far from the rhinestones and glitter, the actor had a rather calm daily life, in which he felt good.
People don't know that but he wasn't at all in the big luxurious hotels. continues Véronique de Villèle. The latter was very close to the actor and she confides that she had “the chance but also almost the obligation to go see him in Douchy”. Meetings that friends looked forward to since they met again.

Alain Delon: a man very close to his friends

Alain Delon appeared to be an inaccessible man but he was not in reality. Despite his great notoriety, he took time for his friends and it is not Véronique de Villèle who will say the opposite.
At one point in my life, I got married and when I announced that to Mireille and Alain, they told me: “wait, it's out of the question. We need to see it, see if it’s ok for us.” she remembered. Her husband, from whom she is now separated, had to visit the couple to ensure that they were accepted. “I took a passing exam, I introduced my husband and luckily, they found him absolutely brilliant”, concluded Véronique de Villèle.
