The sequence was immortalized in 2010, while the son of the 47th president of the United States was preparing for his first school year.
Donald Trump's victory in the American presidential election on November 6 also marked, albeit anecdotally, the return to the media scene of his son, Barron. Since then, an old video of the latter has been making the rounds on social networks across the Atlantic.
Captured in 2010 in the offices of the real estate mogul, for the needs of the show “Larry King Live” broadcast on CNN, the sequence shows Donald Trump, his wife Melania and Barron in full conversation while the little boy, 4 years old at the time, was preparing for his first school year. “I love my briefcase! Do I have to go to school now?”, he asks his mother. “Yes, you will have lunch and then you will go to school,” replies Melania, before Donald Trump intervenes. “Now you know how to read, write and count,” he points out, addressing his son.
“He had a Slovenian accent”
A brief exchange, viewed more than a million times, which caught the attention of Internet users because of its rarity. Indeed, this is a priori the only video to date on which we hear Barron Trump's voice. The other detail that attracted attention – and led to many comments – was Barron Trump's accent. “He had a Slovenian accent,” noted a user of the social network. “Does Barron speak with a Slovenian accent even though he was born and raised in New York because of Melania? It’s quite funny,” asked another. “The fact that he has a Slovenian accent amazes me,” reacted a third. Does the 18-year-old young man, who today stands at 2.06 meters, still have it today? It's difficult to know, as no speeches from Barron Trump have been leaked since.
