Get Lowin a duet with T-Pain, to mark his first date with his wife, Priscilla Chan. An improbable duo therefore, between the billionaire and the rap star.
It's a little cute actually
To celebrate the anniversary of his first meeting with Priscilla Chan, Mark Zuckerberg therefore chose to record a cover of Get Low
famous song by Lil Jon and The East Side Boyz. This choice of song is not insignificant: this 2002 hit resonated during their first meeting at a college party. For the occasion, Zuckerberg teamed up with T-Pain for an acoustic version, posted on Instagram, which gives the piece a new dimension, far removed from its origins. This musical wink aims to humorously recall the beginnings of their relationship and has fun with the rather crude lyrics of the original song.
A somewhat provocative tribute
In his publication, Zuckerberg has fun by qualifying Get Low
of lyrical masterpiece
not without irony, in reference to the rather explicit lyrics of the song. By opting for an acoustic version, slower and more intense, the duo offers an almost parodic performance.and so much the better. The contrast between the initial style of the piece and this softened interpretation gives a rather unexpected result. Zuckerberg is doing quite well, even if it must be admitted that the autotune has clearly been set to the maximum, and you can hear it.
Zuckerberg also wants to improve his image
This is not the first time that Zuckerberg has sought to lighten his public image, often considered too cold and serious. This musical cover therefore adds to a series of recent initiatives where the CEO of Meta shows a more accessible and relaxed side. The association with T-Pain does not come from the sky either: the rapper had offered a personalized channel to Zuckerberg some time ago, a friendly gesture that Zuckerberg did not hesitate to share on his social networks. This resumption of Get Low
therefore reinforces this attempt at image reconversion.
Titled Z-Pain
on streaming platforms, this cover is not just a nostalgic nod
The profits generated by listening to the song will be donated to the association Save the Music
dedicated to musical education. A charitable dimension which will also help to improve Mark's image a little. On the other hand, I'm not totally convinced that this single is listened to a lot, it's really not the song of the year! At the time of writing the title is not available on Apple Music, but on Spotify.
