He dreamed of it, Manu did it. Capturing his latest show for television, on a stage on his native island, was a major challenge for Manu Payet… and the teams who support him.

On tour in for his new one-man show “Emmanuel 2”, the Dionysian comedian took advantage of the three dates scheduled at the Téat de plein air in Saint-Gilles on November 7, 8 and 9 to have the show recorded by the Canal Plus teams.

A challenge for the sixty local technicians and those from , who combined their skills on an impressive device. Cameramen, decorators, sound technicians, lighting, management, production… An anthill at work to engrave in the marble of the video all the energy of this one on stage who tells the life of the actor's forty-year-old dad.

After three full months at the Théâtre de l'Oeuvre, two weeks at and a one-shot at L'Olympia, Manu Payet is delighted to be able to perform his new show in his home theater, a year and a half later his last appearance on the Reunion stage. It was for his first one-man show, Emmanuel, which he performed four times in June 2023.

“I put extra pressure on myself”

“A little empty” recognizes Manu Payet after these three Saint-Gilloise dates (plus one at Luc Donat at ), “but filled with a new energy to be able to show France the theater where I went to see the shows when I was little.”

“I worked a lot to get there, to succeed in having the show filmed for Canal Plus in France…I put extra pressure on myself, which I realized when I arrived here, seeing all these teams , this big machine” he explained Sunday evening on the set of Réunion La 1ère news.

A new important step in the career of the Reunion artist, who will finish in 2024 on the stages of the Théâtre de La Madeleine in .
