Who is Sarah Saldmann, the lawyer and star columnist for CNews, face of the film Au Boulot! by François Ruffin?

The young woman, aged 33, has become the essential face of CNews over the last few weeks. In addition to practicing at the bar and appearing on sets, she also collaborated on the MP's latest film.

The rising columnist and lawyer. Sarah Saldmann has become, for several weeks, the essential face of the continuous news channel, CNews – as well in the programs of Pascal Praud as of Sonia Mabrouk or Laurence Ferrari – and also on Europe 1. But the lawyer specializing in family law and contract law for influencers does not forget his main profession and oscillates between TV sets and his firm.

The 33-year-old young woman is also taking her first steps on the big screen by starring in François Ruffin's latest film, entitled Get to work! where the objective is the “social reintegration” of the columnist. This project was born from a disagreement between the politician and the lawyer on the set of “Grandes Gueules” broadcast on RMC and from several statements by Sarah Saldmann, one of which she considered that “his taxes do not have to pay for the mediocrity of those who don't want to give a damn».

Accustomed to the salons of the Plaza Athénée, to shoes with 12 centimeter heels and professional makeup, she quickly abandoned this lifestyle for the needs of the film, and without long complaining. After trying her hand at the professions of waitress, parcel delivery girl, care worker, agricultural and factory worker, fiber optic technician for filming purposes, she has indeed changed her opinion on a certain number of subjects. “After that, I make my mea culpa. I completely reconsider my position. […] I think a lot of people are out of touch like me.”

Unfailing determination

It is also defined as “a poor woman among the rich”emphasizing that his passion for fashion, watches or even luxury bags cannot systematically be satisfied. So much so that she has, in the notes on her phone, a wish list including, among other things, a Patek Philippe watch or a Birkin bag from Hermès. “Traveling is not my passion. Mine is the wishlist. We admit the passion for travel but not for anything else”she lamented, interviewed in “Buzz TV”. And to add: “I can understand that it is superficial but in the same way that some people have passions for works of art. We don’t tell them it’s stupid.”

And if Sarah Saldmann attaches importance to her appearance, sporting a classic and elegant style, she denies being particularly feminine, as some of her colleagues have already been able to point out on the air. Blonde with long hair, the daughter of Frédéric Saldmann, doctor and cardiologist appearing from time to time in the French audiovisual landscape, claims to owe him nothing regarding his television career. Determined by nature, Sarah Saldmann knows what she wants and often achieves it.

« As long as I haven't been told no, it's yes.”

Sarah Saldmann

Before being a recurring face on CNews, she played on “Grandes Gueules” on RMC hosted by Alain Marschall and Olivier Truchot. Having a position as a columnist on this show was also on his wish list. So much so that one day, guest on a show on BFM Business, she sat in front of the GG studio, watching the arrival of the producer. Result: she played on the show for several years before joining the channels of Vincent Bolloré's group. His motto: “As long as I haven’t been told no, it’s yes”. “The nerve is the only thing that’s true. That's the only thing that pays. You have to provoke luck and when the door is closed, you enter through the window”she said.

And if she can be sharp on certain TV sets – like last October when she openly clashed with Thierry Ardisson in “Cmedia” on 5 – a new side of her is revealed in the said film . A sequence where she is overcome by emotion and cries, which she had asked to be cut during editing, was finally kept. “I’m not a crybaby. I don't cry often in life.”she admitted.

Contrary to some accounts, Sarah Saldmann does not enjoy overflowing self-confidence. “I doubt a lot, I question myself all the time. When I come out of a show, I'll go over and over again what I did wrong.”she explained. A behavior which, far from being negative, pushes her to the best of herself. The lawyer can also count on a few people in her close circle who provide her with valuable advice.
