At the Atelier-Galerie du quai de l’Arnette, Didier Houlès, the photographer, came to show the fruit of a passion he has had since the 1970s for observing humans through a lens . “Mazametan images and figures” is the theme of the exhibition invited by the host sculptor Michel Spérandio. The latter was not mistaken: “It’s about humanity,” he emphasized during the opening. A moment which allowed him to provide updates on his workshop which welcomed, during the holidays, around fifteen children who came to learn about sculpture. “It is work on an imposed model, a witch’s head, which inspired the students” commented the teacher, specifying that the development of the room on the first floor is continuing, it should, during the Christmas holidays, accommodate to the best of groups of trainees.

For his part, Didier Houlès underlined “I wanted to show the daily life of Mazamétain, quite simply” “small things, without pretension”, revealing known faces sometimes disappeared but also places, moments like the “Jap’In” festival Tarn” or twinning with Poland. He also announced the “ready to print” of his latest work on textiles and leather goods “the exhaustive photograph of the thirty companies working in this sector”. A work which was immediately successful and which will be available in December. Finally, he recalled being the custodian of the Michel Bourguignon photographic collection. The latter, a great traveler, will be the subject of an exhibition on this theme next spring. The association for the Promotion of Mazametian Heritage is in charge of the project.

In the meantime, “Mazametain Images and Figures” can be seen until December 2 at the Atelier-Galerie du Quai, 06 37 34 08 9 [email protected] /: michelsperandio.fr
