Marie Griessinger was 16 years old when she met Laurent, Bernard Tapie's youngest son. Girlfriend then wife of the businessman, the former daughter-in-law of the former manager of Olympique de Marseille confided her precious moments with him and made some confidences about his widow Dominique in her new book Tapie, like Bernard. Interviewed by Nice Morningshe agreed to answer a few questions regarding the Boss's family. “How is your mother-in-law today?“the journalists ask him.”Dominique has found a balance. She now lives in the same building as my mother. The worries start to go away. We gave up everything, the inheritance. It wasn't easy” reveals Marie.
“Bernard had enemies, but also friends of absolute loyalty. You cite Jean-Louis Borloo in particular. What was his role after Tapie's death?“, “We understood the strength of their bond after his death. Borloo hosted Bernard's wife for a year. He helped us with all aspects – administrative, legal. Dominique found herself with all the creditors directly; Jean-Louis was completely available. Like Xavier Niel who came to see him almost every week and stayed at his bedside for hours. He too was very present for our family” explains the author of the book We recognize happiness by the noise it makes when it goes away.
Dominique Tapie collapsed after Bernard's death
Invited to face Jordan de Luxe in March 2024, Dominique Tapie spoke of the colossal debts she inherited upon the death of her husband. “It can't scare me, because I'm not solvent. There are still lots of goods to sell (….) It's not me who owes the debts. He's my husband. Why should the wife be responsible for her husband's debts? This is not normal. We are still governed by the Napoleonic code. So, Joséphine did something stupid, but we still pay for it” she explained. As a reminder, the Boss's widow had also declared on the show Clique that his debts amounted to 642 million euros.
Dominique Tapie was also recently in Paris to attend the philharmonic concert Alain Delon: The Last Samurai organized at the Palais des Congrès on November 8, 2024. She was accompanied by her daughter Sophie, pregnant with her second child, as well as her stepson Baptiste Germain.
