Invited on the set of C'L'hebdo this Saturday, November 2, 2024, Angela Lorente, Spanish producer and editor-in-chief of the first season of Loft Story, gave news of Loana, the icon of the show. The former loft lady, who left her mark on an entire generation, is going through a delicate period, as confided by someone who knows her well.
A life journey strewn with pitfalls
Asked by Aurélie Casse about Loana's state of health, Angela Lorente first wanted to recall the star's painful past: “I know how she is, I had her last Sunday, it must be said that Loana, before the Loft, had a very hard life! She tells it in her book, the Loft was the only vacation of her life.” Poignant confidences which highlight the deep wounds of the woman who conquered the hearts of the French in 2001.
The producer then spoke of Loana's vital need to be loved, an emotional lack which has its origins in her difficult childhood: “She found an immeasurable love from people, and I think she's addicted to that love that she didn't have as a child. So she needs to be in the light“. An observation shared by host Aurélie Casse who stressed that this need for love and recognition was universal.
Public love, a blessing and a curse
If Loana's notoriety allowed her to partly fill this emotional void, it also proved to be a burden as Angela Lorente explains: “yes of course, but not love in the street“. The producer here refers to Loana's invasive celebrity, constantly solicited by her fans for photos and signs of affection. A double-edged love from the public that Angela Lorente summarizes as follows: “what saves it on one side, destroys it on the other..
Faced with this situation, the one who has remained close to Loana all these years even admits to having advised her against media appearances, aware of their impact on her fragile health. Upsetting revelations which shed light on the daily struggle of the former loft worker, torn between her visceral need for love and the deleterious consequences of her notoriety.
