He is one of these emblematic personalities of the French PAF. Guy Carlier had agreed to answer intimate questions from Jordan De Luxe in the show Chez Jordan on C8, on May 14, 2024. And as usual, the host asked him to do
some confidences about his retirement.
At 74, Guy Carlier receives around 3,500 euros net per month of retirement, “if you want a number”, he says to Jordan De Luxe. A substantial sum which is also a reflection of his great career on television. Indeed, he indicated that he had won “up to 25,000 euros per month with Marc-Olivier Fogiel”.
Guy Carlier opens up about his finances
Amounts that make your head spin. “You need to know, because people don’t tell you this, that when you are a columnist, you receive royalties calculated according to the schedule and the audience,” he clarified. “So I received 2,500 euros in royalties for each broadcast. That means roughly 10,000 euros, so we’ll say 40,000 euros per month.”
The former small screen star also returned to her relationship very tense with her son, Carlito and his decision to
lose weight : “I think the image was unbearable. Maybe I would have reacted the same way. Where the misunderstanding lies is that I, at that time, lived it by saying to myself: 'He's like the others who say they love me all the same'. Because he knows that I love him, he knows who the real Guy Carlier is inside this pile of fat. We laughed together, there was never any tension, we never yelled at each other.”
His moving statements about his son Carlito
Very touched, Guy Carlier admitted that he had not been a father present. “I'm not finished. Effectively,
I didn't know how to be a father . I was immature”he said, revealing that he does not see his son frequently. “I think he needs time. He must still have images from the past”, explained Guy Carlier.
“For him, it’s a horror film. That’s engraved in his mind.” If they are not angry, Guy Carlier indicates that he
“a lot of trouble seeing him”.
