After almost an hour, the influencer with 19 million subscribers on the platform was asked to react to his message posted on Instagram last July, in which he called for voting against the far right and the RN in the legislative elections.

“What pushed me to do it was when I saw that social networks and in particular TikTok were being used to perfection by this extreme right,” he adds, referring to the presence of Jordan Bardella, president of the RN, on the Chinese social network. “It’s mastered, but at a mastery level it’s crazy,” he points.

Squeezie explains that seeing young people “fall into these smokescreens, these hateful ideas” to him “hurts the heart”. “For me, it was unthinkable to see 19-year-olds say wow, the RN is so good”he continues. If he wrote, it was above all to «feel good» with himself. “I had to do it”he insists, even if he doubts he has convinced his subscribers.

“I didn’t want to have regrets”

“It took me a while to write this post, because the subject is sensitive and I didn't want to turn people on, I especially didn't want to appear moralistic or haughty or judge people just because they have a different opinion . I just wanted to be very factual”he wants to emphasize.

“I wrote it and I said to myself: 'I'm going to need 3-4 nights of sleep between which I'm going to reread it, readjust things with a single goal, not to rob anyone.' Which completely failed”he describes before bursting out laughing. He reportedly lost 200,000 subscribers on YouTube after this speech.

“I’m very glad I did it,” he nevertheless affirms. “With the influence I have, I could not say anything about what is happening, which I consider very serious. I would have felt very bad. (…) I have this need to do it and I don’t want to have any regrets,” he finishes. When Élise Lucet finally asks him if he would do it again, he replies: ” Obviously ! »
