On October 12, 2023, a year ago now, the hanged body by Marwan Berreni was found in an abandoned farm in Corcelles-en-Beaujolais, in the Rhône. A few weeks earlier, he had knocked down a young woman leaving a club in Mâcon.
To pay tribute to him, journalist Charlotte Chaffanjon published a book: Two Brotherspublished by Les Arênes. She talks about the death of the actor More Beautiful Lifebut also on that of his brother, Bilal, died in 2013. The parents, Martine and Mouradalso participated in the work.
What happens to Marwan Berreni’s parents?
The actor’s parents decided to change of scenery after the tragedy. While they were residents of a village in Yonne, they are now settled in their dream destination. “He sends me a photo of Martine, smiling, the yellow boots in the sand, by the sea, with this quote from the Persian writer Hodjviri:
‘Life is a dream from which death wakes us up…’
They are located in the Morbihan looking for their future home. For Bilal and Marwan, they are now writing the story of their parents after them.”
Brittany is now their new cocoon of peace. “This February day, after lunch, Mourad and Martine talk about their dream of leaving settle in Brittany. They have already spent three days in Saint-Malo, a marvel.” writes the author. As a reminder, both parents lost their two children in ten years.

Martine and Mourad Berreni still don’t understand
the act of their son occurring in 2023. “Our house was light. Everything was fine and I don’t know what happened. I say to myself in a family that has flaws, maybe that can be explained, but in ours?” asked the actor’s mother, a year after the events. “Nothing explains that. It’s true that there is a mystery with them.”
His brother, Bilalwas murdered in 2013 in the city of Detroit by three young men. He was a painter, graffiti artist and designer known under the pseudonym Zoo Project. His body was not identified until 8 months after the murder, the first painful ordeal for parents.
