Guest on the set of Daily to promote his next series Children are kingsGéraldine Nakache spoke about her relationship with social networks. A central theme of fiction which she shares with Doria Tillier.

In Children are kingsseries adapted from the eponymous novel by Delphine de Vigan, Géraldine Nakache plays a brigade leader detached from social conventions opposite Doria Tillier, mother of a missing “influencer” little girl, a woman in search of success, for whom appearances are fundamental. Two completely opposite women.

A film which highlights a central theme: the power, sometimes dangerous, of social networks. A power from which the two actresses seem to want to protect themselves as much as possible in their private lives.

To the question “What is your relationship with social networks?”, Leila Bekhti’s sidekick responds bluntly: “It’s fake”. “For me it’s bogus, it’s rotten because I don’t film my children, I don’t film what I eat and I don’t film my vacations but I spend endless time going to see what they eat, how they dress their children and where they go on vacation,” she says on set. “I know Kim Kardashian’s life, it’s insane.”

“An absolute denial”

And when the presenter of the show Yann Barthès asks her the fateful question of the daily time spent on Instagram, the 44-year-old actress hits the nail on the head. “There is a possibility of finding out but I’m not looking. An absolute denial,” she quips.

A real gap with her playing partner who admitted she was not on social networks. “It’s something that scares me,” Doria Tillier confided on the set of the show. I am particularly sensitive to the dangers of social networks. “I find it great, I find it cooler,” finished Géraldine Nakache. The series Children are kings will be available on Disney+ on October 23.
