Maya Henry, Liam Payne’s ex-fiancée, has revealed that Zayn Malik was the One Direction member who allegedly threw Liam against a wall during a backstage altercation several years ago.
“I see this all the time, everywhere. I heard this unbearable story so many times, and he told me it was Zayn,” she confided on Tik Tok, in response to a video from a user inviting users to speculate on who who “according to us, pushed Liam Payne off a wall”.

Her video quickly went viral on the platform, prompting Maya Henry to confirm her comments in a second, nearly nine-minute video. “I’m going to respond to some of these comments…I made a five-second TikTok about something that [Liam] spoke in a podcast. He’s the one who washed everyone’s dirty laundry in a podcast. But now that I’ve made a five-second video, it’s over, right?” she said.

Maya Henry, who was engaged to the musician from 2020 to 2022, hinted that she had not yet revealed everything about her relationship with the artist, asking netizens to “stay tuned” because “there is still a lot to say”.
Shocking revelations in 2022
The revelation came nearly two years after Liam Payne opened up about an altercation with one of the former members of One Direction during his appearance on Logan Paul’s ‘Impaulsive’ podcast. “In the group, we hated each other (…) There was an argument behind the scenes and one member in particular threw me against a wall,” he said, without specifying the identity of the person in question .
However, he remembered warning his teammate: “If you don’t take those hands off, there’s a good chance you’ll never use them again.” The “Strip That Down” singer did not provide further details on the reasons for the argument.
Since then, fans have been speculating about the identity of the member in question, especially after Liam Payne called Louis Tomlinson a “brawler” on the same podcast. He also admitted to having tension with Zayn Malik over the years.
“There are many reasons why I don’t like Zayn, and there are many reasons why I will always be on his side. My parents are very supportive, to the point where it’s sometimes annoying, and Zayn had a different upbringing in that sense (…) I don’t agree with his actions, I can’t be on his side . I understand and I hope that one day, the person on the other end of the line will want to receive help,” he added.
Public apology
He apologized for his comments about Gigi Hadid’s former partner on X (formerly Twitter) in June 2022, emphasizing that “Zayn is my brother and I will support him forever.”
The two musicians gained fame in 2010 by participating in the show “The X Factor” as part of the boy band One Direction, alongside Harry Styles, Niall Horan and Louis Tomlinson. Although they quickly gained popularity, Zayn Malik announced his departure in 2015, leading to the group’s breakup the following year.
