Madonna took to her Instagram account to announce some very sad news: the death of her younger brother Christopher. After losing her older brother last year and her mother-in-law a few days ago, the star is once again affected by tragedy.
To pay homage to the one she has long considered as “the human being closest to her”the singer published a long text on the social network. Obviously very touched by the loss of Christopher Ciccone, Madonna remembered their fondest memories.
Madonna in mourning again
The interpreter of The beautiful island is going through a very dark period. While she’s still crying the loss of her mother-in-law Joan Cicconeit is to her brother that she must now say goodbye. Christopher Ciccone died at the age of 63 from cancer. He was, for many years, a pillar for Madonna.
The 66-year-old star lifted the veil on the role his younger brother played in his career. On Instagram, the mother shared with her subscribers a series of photos putting Christopher in the spotlight. “It’s hard to explain our bond.”said Madonna, referring to the missing person. “We knew we were different from others,” added the star before giving more details about her relationship with her younger brother.
Christopher Ciccone reconciled with his sister before her death
“When I had the courage to go to New York to become a dancer, my brother followed me“recalled the star. A few years later, Christopher Ciccone became artistic director for his sister. “We defied the Roman Catholic Church, the police, the moral majority and all authority figures who stood in the way of artistic freedom”Madonna revealed.
However, the two artists ended up falling out in 2008 after the publication by Christopher Ciccone of an autobiography against his sister. “We haven’t spoken for a while, but
when my brother got sick, we found our way back to each other.“explained the popstar.
During her illness, Madonna wanted to be there for her brother. “I did my best to keep him alive as long as possible. He was in so much pain towards the end.“revealed with pain the mother of six children. Tested by this new mourning, Madonna ended with poignant words: “I’m glad he’s no longer in pain. There will never be anyone like him. I know he’s dancing somewhere”. A text which certainly brought tears to all the singer’s fans.
