Princess Beatrice was responsible for lighting the iconic building to kick off the event. The Outward Bound network organized the “Big Rappel”, a rappelling down the facade of the Empire State Building by around twenty courageous people who were sponsored. Outward Bound helps young people surpass themselves and respond to challenges. This abseiling symbolizes this action. Thrill-seekers, including a few celebrities including actor Jared Leto, abseiled from the building’s spire to the 30th floor. This represents a descent of 275 meters.

On the sidelines of this event, Princess Beatrice also accepted the television’s invitation to respond to an interview. At 35, Princess Beatrice had never responded to a live interview before.

With the time difference, she appeared live on the famous British morning show “This Morning”, broadcast on ITV. As well as speaking about her support for this challenge, Princess Beatrice spoke about her mother, who “had difficult health problems last year”. This bad moment seems to be behind Sarah because her eldest daughter claims that she “is doing very well” now.
