This Saturday, January 18, 2025, Léa Salamé hosted a new issue of the show What era on France 2. In the second part of the evening, the journalist, also present on France Inter, welcomed Charline Vanhoenacker.
Unfortunately, the comedian's visit was not easy. The 47-year-old columnist did not hesitate to express his strong opinionsnotably against Elon Musk, one of the richest and most influential men in the United States.
His words, without filter, quickly aroused strong reactions, somewhat destabilizing the atmosphere of the program.
What an era: a sequence that gets people talking
“We talked a lot about genius when talking about Elon Musk, we forgot to say that he was a big asshole“, she said before adding: “It feels good to say big asshole“.
Present at his side, the former European Commissioner for the Internal Market, Thierry Breton, then asked him if “she doesn't want to come tweet (with him) on the networks“. An invitation that unleashed passions.
If the majority of the public present did not fail to laugh at this exchange, Internet users reacted in a very different way. Many were outraged at the contempt shown not only towards Elon Musk, but also towards Donald Trump.
“Tell Arcom, you made Cyril Hanouna and C8 pay more than 3 million euros in fines for insulting Louis Boyard in TPMP“, recalled Bruno Attal on X (formerly Twitter). “For these insults about Trump United States, how much is it?“
-Elon Musk in the sights of French elected officials
In recent days, Elon Musk and his X platform have become prime targets of criticism in France. Several French political figures have also expressed their dissatisfaction and called to leave the social network, reports The Sunday Journal.
Among the most vocal political figures are Roland Lescure, EPR vice-president of the National Assembly, environmentalist MP Sandrine Rousseau, as well as senator Yannick Jadot, all members of a growing movement that rejects the current management of the network social under the leadership of Elon Musk.
The accusations are multiple: according to these elected officials, Musk and his platform are responsible for spreading disinformation, thus transforming and “propaganda tool“.
They also denounce implicit support for the far righta criticism often formulated by detractors in particular because of its editorial choices and the controversial moderation of content on the platform.
