Audi is working on a new Q7. This is confirmed by some spy photos of prototypes spotted in recent weeks in Scandinavia, with the German manufacturer preparing to completely overhaul its flagship SUV, ten years after the launch of the current model (subsequently updated in 2019 and early 2024 ).
The new generation could be completely different not only cosmetically, but also in terms of on-board technology and engines. Expected for 2026, it could look like this.
Sharp and (still) imposing
Our rendering attempts to give a “face” to the new Q7. Judging by the spy photos, the upcoming Audi will have an impressive front end characterized by a wide Singleframe grille and slim, split LED headlights, with the upper headlights in all likelihood featuring bright graphics that can be customized directly from the infotainment system.

In terms of dimensions, the Q7 could gain a few centimeters and thus exceed the current length of 5.07 m, as well as a width close to 2 meters and a height of around 1.73 m. Furthermore, we also expect an LED light bar integrated into the tailgate and door handles flush with the body to improve aerodynamic efficiency.
-As in the past, there should be some aesthetic differences between the base version and the S version, the latter recognizable by a slightly lowered stance, glossy black trim, exposed exhausts and specific bumpers.
Interior and engines
As for in-car technology, Audi could adopt the Digital Stage seen on the Q6 e-tron and A6 e-tron, consisting of an 11.9-inch digital instrument cluster, a central screen of 14.5-inch and a third 11-inch passenger monitor. However, it is not excluded that the company will choose a completely different layout to make the premium SUV even more unique.

Regardless, the new Q7 will be based on the Premium Platform Combustion platform, which allows the adoption of electrified mild hybrid and plug-in hybrid engines. For the latter, the presence of larger batteries of more than 20-25 kWh seems obvious to allow an electric mileage of at least 100 km and powers of more than 400-500 hp.
The sportier SQ7 could still be equipped with the 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8, but with increased efficiency and power.
