The commercial success of electric vehicles is very often linked to tax advantages and other incentives helping customers to convert to them. The recent collapse of the German market after the abolition of state aid bears witness to this. Also, in order to sell off its 500th and 600th as much as possible, the Italian manufacturer has decided to double the CO2 bonus for a signature before November 30, 2024. A discount of €8,000 therefore, which, in the case of the electric Fiat 500, breaks down as follows: €4,000 ecological bonus, €3,000 discount called “€co Fiat” and €1,000 “ Electricity bonus”, paid by the manufacturer. As always, this offer is only valid for individuals. Fiat casts a wide net and offers this discount both for a “cash” purchase of the car and via a classic credit and also in the case of a long-term rental over 37 months and 30,000 km. In the latter case, the €8,000 discount is deducted from the first payment, this corresponds to an initial contribution of €3,500, followed by 36 monthly rentals of €109, for the basic version of the 500 on socket. The brand obviously presents on its commercial website a more rewarding version, a Fiat 500e La Prima containing a battery with a capacity of 23.8 kWh, the rent for which is then €237.

The rest of the career of the Fiat 500 will also be written in hybrid mode. A scenario which, when it was launched in fall 2021, was absolutely not on the program. But, faced with sales of 77,260 copies for the year 2023, which should fall, for the 2024 financial year, below the symbolic bar of 50,000 units (excluding the miracle linked to this €8,000 rebate), the managers of the Italian brand have decided to graft a thermal engine under the hood of the city car. For the record, the initial commercial objectives assigned to the Fiat 500e were 125,000 annual sales, we are far from the target. While the factory adapts to this strategic change, the first Fiat 500 hybrids will arrive on the market in 2026.
