Carrefour recalls a product due to the possible presence of salmonella

CArrefour is recalling crepinettes (weight 4x250g and 2x250g) of the Carrefour The Market brand, sold in the butchery section of certain Carrefour stores in Belgium, due to the possible presence of Salmonella, the department store chain said in a press release on Thursday.

The 4x250g crepinettes carry the EAN codes: 5400101097193 and 5400101089976 and have 07/11/2024 as the expiry date. The 2x250g crepinettes have the EAN code: 5400101002111 and the expiry date is 07/11/2024.

Carrefour asks people who have these products not to consume them and to destroy them or return them to the point of sale where they will be refunded.

Food poisoning caused by salmonella results in gastrointestinal disorders often accompanied by fever within 12 to 72 hours following consumption of contaminated products. These symptoms may be aggravated in young children, immunocompromised individuals and the elderly.

People who have consumed these products and who present these symptoms are invited to consult their doctor and report this consumption.
