As of January 1, Thomas Schöb, currently head of customer service at Baloise Switzerland, will assume general management of the banking establishment of the Rhenish bancassurance group. He will succeed Jürg Ritz, who wished to hand over his functions before retiring in 2026.
A physicist graduated from the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in Zurich, Mr. Schöb, among other things, headed the Investment Strategy unit at Baloise then the Group Life segment before joining the management committee of Baloise in Switzerland as Claims Manager, said Tuesday Baloise.
A Swiss citizen born in 1975, he also holds a diploma in financial analyst and asset manager. He joined Baloise in 2002 as head of risk and then moved to the group’s asset management division in 2005, where he headed the Investment Strategy & Investment Controlling unit for eight years.
Jürg Ritz will assist Thomas Schöb as a consultant during a transition year, before retiring. The Customer Service business sector, previously headed by Thomas Schöb, will be transferred to the management of Patric Olivier Zbinden on January 1, 2025, currently responsible for the “Corporate Customers” sector in his capacity as a member of the Baloise Executive Board. in Switzerland.
