Real estate prices are falling in Rennes. They now reach 4,514 euros per square meter, according to the exclusive Bien’Ici barometer for BFM Immo.

Real estate in Rennes is falling. Thus, the average price has now reached 4,514 euros per m² in August (prices displayed in advertisements before negotiations), according to figures from our partner Bien’Ici*. Over a month, prices are down 0.2% and they are down 4.1% over a year.

On the rental side, prices are falling. Thus, the average price of a rental comes to 20.5 euros per m2. For a studio, it will cost on average 444 euros per month and for a 3-room apartment 881 euros.

The population of Rennes increased between 2009 and 2020, according to INSEE figures. It went from 206,604 people in 2009 to 222,485 in 2020. Unsurprisingly, the largest socio-professional category is “other people without professional activity” which includes students (50,595 people). It is followed by retirees (36,070 people). In addition to farmers (59 people), craftsmen, traders and business leaders are the least represented (4,250 people).

The number of primary residences increased from 205,865 in 2009 to 117,699 in 2020. Secondary residences also increased with 2,309 in 2009 compared to 5,541 in 2020, as well as vacant housing (7,319 in 2009 compared to 8,664 in 2020).
