Two ASSE players were selected for the French U16 team to play in a double confrontation against Luxembourg. A look back at his two meetings.
The 2009 generation also has its share of Stéphanois who wear the tricolor jersey. Indeed, central defender Nathan Kasia and explosive winger Mylan Toty are part of the rally. They both wear the starry jersey in national U17.
Two Stéphanois starters in the French team
The French U16 team dominated Luxembourg (3-0) this Tuesday January 21 in Rumelange. Our two Greens were starters for this match and both played more than one half.
For their first outing of 2025, the Bleuets had to wait until the 37th minute to open the scoring. Jules Bouffandeau found the net with a cross shot at the edge of the area (1-0). After the break, Dee Shawn Jacinthe doubled the lead with a powerful header from the penalty spot (57th, 2-0). At the end of the match, Djeewing Ilphonse, who entered the game, caused and converted a penalty, thus sealing the French victory (71st, 3-0).
A second act as a replacement
Despite the numerous changes made by coach José Alcocer at kick-off, the first period once again turned in favor of the Bleuets. The latter take the advantage thanks to Mathis Tony Loué, who superbly concludes an action initiated by Alexis Coquard (1-0, 36th).
-As soon as the restart, the Luxembourgers got back on track thanks to Scott Welter (1-1, 48th). But, on the next commitment, Loué scored a double and immediately gave the Tricolores the advantage (2-1, 49th).
Luxembourg does not give up and equalizes once again through Cristiano Alves Macedo (2-2, 64th). However, Dee Shawn Jacinthe, already a scorer on Tuesday, allows the French to get back in front. The Bleuets could have worsened the score at the end of the match, but the shot from Stéphanois Mylan Toty crashed onto the crossbar. The score will stay there.
