Why are the mills of yesterday pushing for change today?
Windmills have been part of the Dutch landscape for a long time. However, until the 1970s, the country relied heavily on fossil fuels. The LIAM F1 UWT: small but strong!
Among the latest finds is the LIAM F1 UWTa mini wind turbine designed for the city. It can produce between 300 and 2500 kWh, or around half of what an average household consumes. Inspired by the Archimedes Spiral, its helical design allows it to best capture changing winds.
With only 1.50 meters in diameter and less than 100 kg on the scale, it is not only compact but super efficient. It converts no less than 88% of the captured wind into useful energy and produces around 1500 kWh per year with just a blast of 5 m/s.
When wind meets solar: a winning combination
Associate the LIAM F1 UWT with other sources of green energy opens up lots of possibilities. By combining this wind turbine with solar panels and energy storage systems, you can really reduce your traditional electricity consumption. Households can thus cut their CO2 emissions while lowering their energy bill.
This integrated approach is also in line with European efforts to boost renewable energy. Result ? Greener and sometimes even surplus electricity networks thanks to solar panels which reduce our electricity consumption.
