The candidate for leadership of the Liberal Party of Quebec (PLQ) mandated Me Richard Généreux, tax lawyer, in order to shed light on the motivations of the representatives of the Quebec government keeping his tax file, TVA Nouvelles has learned.
The lawyer believes that Revenue Canada demonstrated collaboration, which is not the case with Revenu Québec, writes the candidate’s agent in a document obtained by TVA Nouvelles.
If Revenu Québec does not respond favorably to Me Generous, prosecution could be initiated.
-Mr. Coderre, who will submit his nomination file this Friday morning, believes he meets the conditions to be a candidate to succeed Dominique Anglade having agreements with Revenu Québec and Revenue Canada.
The person who is in trouble with the tax authorities has claims totaling nearly $400,000 from both levels of government.
He put his property up for sale in November to free up cash to pay his unpaid taxes.
