Six Geneva theaters were burglarized between November 19 and December 23. As reported by “Le Courrier”, these are the Loup, the Parfumerie, the Gravière, the Alchimic, the Théâtre des Amis and that of the Galpon. For the latter, the loss amounts to 11,000 francs, while 6,000 francs were stolen from Le Loup – to which must be added the costs of repairing broken windows and damaged safes, explains to the Geneva daily Pauline Catry, his co-director. She speaks of a substantial sum for such cultural structures “already vulnerable from a financial point of view”. According to the co-director of Galpon, the criminals were well informed: they acted the night following the last performance of a play, that is to say when the coffers were most full.
