The departmental commerce service of Mbacké (center) incinerated, this Wednesday, more than sixty tons of products unfit for consumption, with an estimated value of 72 million CFA francs.

The operation, carried out at the “Bakhiya” landfill in the commune of Touba, was supervised by the deputy prefect of Mbacké, Amadou Sow, in the presence of the head of the departmental commerce service, representatives of traders as well as defense and security forces.

According to Moussa Sané, head of the Mbacké departmental trade service, these products, consisting of food, cosmetics, pharmaceutical products and other counterfeits, were withdrawn from the distribution circuits of the department’s markets, pharmacies and supermarkets. A significant part of the seizures were made during religious events in the district, Aps reports.
