As the Ministry of the Economy indicates on its website, the advance, which is equivalent to an average payment of 639 eurosrepresents a total amount of 5.8 billion eurosfor no less than 9 million tax households. This advance, again according to the ministry, “also contributes to preserve purchasing power of the French people concerned. This aims to support and develop in particular home employment as well as donations or accommodation in nursing homes, by anticipating the receipt of the associated tax advantage”.
What amount?
Regarding the amount of the advance, it corresponds to “60% of the total amount of tax reductions and credits declared in spring 2024 for expenses incurred in 2023″, specifies the Ministry of the Economy.

As for the payment of this advance, it will be “directly to the bank account communicated by the taxpayer”, this Wednesday January 15. Its wording has been communicated: it will be “CREDITIMPORT ADVANCE“.
To the extent that no bank details have been communicated to the tax administration, payment will be made in the form of a check sent by post “by the end of January”.
