Friday January 10, 2025, Stéphane Grall, mayor of the town of Saint-Quentin-sur-le-Homme and his municipal council, presented their wishes to the population.

The commune, located between Avranches and Ducey-Les Chéris, recorded in 2024, has 1,333 inhabitants, or 42 more compared to the 2018 census.

After discussing a retrospective of last year, the elected official announced the plans for 2025.

More accommodation

The municipality has launched the sale of plots in section 4 of the municipal subdivision. To date, the thirteen available plots have been sold or reserved. For its part, Manche Habitat will build eight housing units at the entrance to the subdivision.

This housing meets an essential need and will allow more families to settle with us, to support our community.

Creation of a nature trail

The nature trail, currently being created, will allow you to discover the natural environment via an eight-kilometer loop, all dotted with interpretation panels to highlight biodiversity and the importance of agriculture. An educational pond will also be created near Lait Bouilli.

The 17th-18th century altarpiece will be restored

The restoration of the church altarpiece, dating from the 17th-18th century, has become necessary to preserve and transmit cultural heritage. The total cost of the work, €77,785, will be subsidized by the Regional Directorate of Cultural Affairs (DRAC), to the tune of €31,103, and the Departmental Council for €20,000.

“In addition, we called on the Langlois Foundation for sponsorship and we participated in a competition organized by the Foundation for the Safeguarding of French . We will know, at the end of February, if we are selected among the three winning projects.”

LEDs and optical fiber

The training pitch floodlights will be replaced by LED floodlights in order to reduce energy consumption and illuminate the entire pitch.

Finally, the deployment of fiber will be finalized and opened for commercialization at the end of 2026.

Other projects are still in the study phase such as the renovation of the presbytery garage into housing, the creation of a sports course and the establishment of a play area for children and adolescents in order to promote intergenerational interaction among other things. .

Avranches bypass

As part of the consultation relating to the South-East Avranches bypass project, the Department will organize public meetings as well as open hours from March 3 to 31, 2025.
