The exceptional regime allowing the use of meal vouchers for the purchase of non-directly consumable products ended on January 1.
In 2025, we can no longer buy certain products in supermarkets with meal vouchers, in particular pasta and certain products from the grocery section.
The titres-restaurant allows you to purchase directly consumable food preparations, possibly to reheat or defrost (cooked meals, prepared salads…).
They are usable to purchase dairy products, as well as fruits and vegetables, whether or not they are directly consumable.
° APPLICABLE LAW:
The law of August 16, 2022 on purchasing power established an exceptional regime for the use of meal vouchers. It was possible to use meal vouchers to purchase food products that were not directly consumable.
Since January 1, 2025, the derogation regime has ended, and it is common law which applies again.
THE foods that cannot be purchased with meal vouchers since January 1, 2025 are :
-* We can still use your meal vouchers to buy in particular :
- savory tarts, quiches and pizzas;
- frozen processed fish;
- prepared meats ready to cook;
- still and sparkling waters, as well as fruit juices and non-alcoholic drinks;
- cheeses and yogurts;
- cold meats;
- canned goods.
° TEMPORARY SITUATION AND WHAT OUTLOOK!?
The Senate is examining a bill which aims to extend, until December 31, 2025, the exceptional regime for the use of meal vouchers; This bill provides that meal vouchers can be used again for the purchase of any food product whether or not it is directly consumable. But nothing is done. Restaurateurs remain stubbornly opposed to the exemption, while restaurants are experiencing an economic crisis…
