The municipal councilor questioned the mayor about the financial difficulties of the Réalités group and the possible consequences on this work. Work began around two years ago, on the site of the former Renouveau holiday center in Loctudy, with a view to creating a residence for seniors. In 2021, the cost of the project was estimated at €17 million and 25 full-time jobs were to be created.
“Will the building be used? I hope so, we all hope so”
“Both groups are in extremely complicated financial situations. Heurus is in receivership and the videoconference that we had with the representatives of the two groups does not invite optimism, regrets Serge Guilloux. I am thinking strongly of the people who have already invested and purchased 80 apartments out of the 104 for sale. The work is 80% complete and negotiations are underway with the banks to increase the budget line allowing it to be completed. If this is not possible we were told that the insurance companies would take over. The building will certainly be finished. Will it be exploited? I hope so, we all hope so. »
“We will end up with a building that will not have a destination. Before this matter is resolved, we risk ending up with five to ten years of procedures,” lamented André Flamand.
Other projects in danger
Loctudy is far from being the only municipality affected by the financial difficulties of the Réalités group and its subsidiaries. In Le Mans or even in Saran, in the Loiret, construction sites have also stopped and in this town in the metropolis of Orléans, it is 500 housing units in question.
-“What the managers of Réalités announced to us via video cannot be heard. They had the nerve to tell me that the Loctudy project was a small project. It’s not possible for a local elected official to hear that,” protested Serge Guilloux.
