Recently, many self-employed people have complained about their inability to connect to the official portal which is dedicated to them to complete their tax returns. This situation, which has lasted for more than a week, prevents some of them from fulfilling their administrative obligations, thus exposing them to penalties and complications with the tax administration.
Approached by Media24, a self-employed person describes his difficulties in accessing the portal: “Access to the self-employed person’s portal is very complicated. Interruptions are frequent, making administrative procedures particularly difficult.”
Another self-employed person, visibly annoyed, told us that the breakdown was less than a week old, but has been going on for almost a month : “This is not acceptable! The site has been out of service for almost a month and nothing seems to be done to resolve the problem. We are stuck in our efforts and this directly impacts our activity.”, he laments.
One of the major points of concern concerns the impossibility, for many self-employed people, of registering via the dedicated portal due to prolonged outages. Several users report that the site has been out of service for several weeks, making new membership impossible. This situation constitutes an obstacle for those who wish to formalize their activity and find themselves unable to finalize their procedures due to these dysfunctions.
The situation is even more problematic for Moroccans living abroad (MRE). Many of them affirm that access to the portal and the site of Post Morocco is practically impossible from abroad, which further complicates the management of their status remotely.
Likewise, on the X platform (formerly Twitter), a Moroccan living abroad (MRE) expresses his exasperation at the persistent malfunctions of online services. “For us, Moroccans around the world, these platforms have not been working for a while. It is impossible to access them, whether on the self-employed site or that of Poste Maroc.”
Response from Poste Maroc
-Faced with the access difficulties encountered in recent days on the platform dedicated to self-employed people, Barid Al-Maghrib provided details regarding the causes of these malfunctions and the measures taken to remedy them. The organization in charge of managing the portal recognizes that these disruptions are linked to an exceptional influx of users, in particular due to tax declarations and social security coverage for self-employed people.
“The platform for self-employed people has recently recorded significant peaks in simultaneous connections, linked to income declarations and social security coverage. As with any platform intended for a large audience, these requests concentrated in restricted time slots have caused slowdowns and bottlenecks in the system”, indicates an authorized source in Barid Al-Maghrib, contacted by Media24.
In this context, the operator claims to have mobilized its technical teams to provide rapid solutions to these disruptions. “Barid Al-Maghrib mobilized its technical resources to provide solutions as quickly as possible. From January 8, major interventions were carried out to strengthen the capabilities of the platform and guarantee a smooth user experience. These efforts made it possible to stabilize the platform and ensure a quality service to self-entrepreneurs.”, assures the same source.
Furthermore, if this phenomenon occurs every year, the question of anticipation arises. The implementation of appropriate technical solutions or preventive measures could make it possible to mitigate these malfunctions and ensure continuous access to the portal, particularly during busy periods.
