Saudia achieves global leadership position in on-time performance by 2024

Saudia, the national airline of Saudi Arabia, announces that it has ranked first globally in on-time departures (OTP) with an on-time rate of 88.82%, according to a report from the Cirium independent aerial tracking platform. Saudia also obtained second place globally for on-time arrivals (OTP), with a rate of 86.35%, just 0.35% less than the airline that topped the ranking. Over the past 12 months, Saudia operated 192,560 flights, serving more than 100 destinations across four continents.

His Excellency Eng. Ibrahim Al-Omar, Managing Director of Saudia Group, commented: “We are proud to maintain excellence in global operational performance, which goes hand in hand with the objectives of the National Transport and Logistics Strategy as well as the National Aviation Sector Strategy. This achievement reflects the collective efforts of Saudia Group employees across all business units and highlights the integrated role played by different sectors in ensuring operational efficiency. These efforts are directly linked to improving the passenger experience. »

He added: “Throughout the year, our operational plans, particularly during peak seasons, have demonstrated our ability to overcome challenges while optimizing resource utilization, including our expanding modern fleet as well as our predictive digital systems powered by artificial intelligence, all of which contribute to on-time flight performance. »

In 2024, Saudia ranked first in on-time performance three times, during the months of June, July and November. The airline remains committed to maintaining the highest levels of global quality and aviation safety, while offering unique services, products and initiatives aimed at enhancing the travel experience at all service touchpoints. Saudia continues to leverage the latest technologies and solutions in the aviation industry.

Currently, Saudia operates more than 530 daily flights, connecting more than 100 destinations across four continents to the Kingdom with a modern fleet of 144 aircraft. This operation contributes to the achievement of Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030 goals, particularly in the tourism, entertainment, sports and pilgrimage sectors.

As part of its ambitious growth strategy, Saudia plans to expand its fleet with 130 new aircraft in the coming years, increasing both flight frequency and seat capacity to current destinations, while introducing new destinations in his network.
