Here are the favorite cars of Belgians in 2024: an ever-widening gap between individuals and professionals

Among individuals, the situation is very different: 65% of them chose gasoline for their new car, and a little more than 15% opted for the hybrid. Electricity only appealed to 9.6% of them. And mainly in Flanders because of the purchase bonus, if we are to believe the Traxio statistics revealed at the start of the week.

The figures also show an ever-increasing disparity between the models chosen by professionals and those preferred (or some would say can afford) individuals. Thus, among the former, the Top 5 is dominated by BMW (the only market in the world where the Bavarian brand is leader), but also includes Audi, Mercedes and Volvo. In the seconds, it is Dacia which dominates head and shoulders a ranking where Toyota, Renault and Kia appear. Only Volkswagen manages to seduce everyone, on the second step of the podium on both sides.

There, it is once again the Dacia Sandero which reigns as undisputed master: 11,730 registrations, or 2,400 more than in 2023 and almost double that of its first runner-up… the Dacia Duster, registered 6,114 times. The Toyota Yaris completes the podium (5,498 registrations).
