In the industry we call this “ false registrations “. We already know them throughout the year, when manufacturers, for example, bring in a certain contingent of vehicles which they register to set up demo models. However, these volumes remain “reasonable”, in addition they are quickly absorbed by customers, these demos quickly passing over to the second-hand side. Now, what happens almost with every change in environmental standards is more problematic: the volumes are such that they track real trends. Some manufacturers go by pinches, others by shovelfuls!
Consequence : while we announced a market of -2.2% over the first eleven months of 2024, finally it ends at + 2.5% as of December 31! As you will read below, the month of December alone recorded 19,427 registrations, one increase of 86.3% compared to December 2023, it's incredible. Like what is happening in the scooter segment in particular, in the moped family too (+ 70.3% increase in December), with certain brands like Royal Enfield, Kymco, Benelli… all the figures from the Motorcycle market , scooter and three-wheelers are available to discover now!
