The FC Barcelona has taken up residence in Saudi Arabia. More precisely, it is in Jeddah, the second most populous city in the country, that the Catalans will compete in the Spanish Super Cup, from January 8 to 12. The Blaugrana, the most successful team in the competition (14) wants to increase its hegemony.
This Wednesday January 8, Barça faces Athletic Club. Hansi Flick’s men arrived in Saudi Arabia around 9:30 p.m. local time (7:30 p.m. in Barcelona) this Monday evening.
The culer delegation, with one goal
The culer expedition is led by president Joan Laporta, and vice-president, Rafa Yuste. Xavier Barbany, Miquel Camps, Xavi Puig, Aureli Mas, Àngel Riudalbas and Joan Soler are also present. She hopes to be there for 7 days, after the Super Cup final. The Blaugrana would face the winner of Real Madrid – Mallorca if they win against Athletic Bilbao.
Training the day after arrival
On Tuesday, Barça will train on the pitch at the King Abdullah Sports City Stadium to get their bearings, at 8 p.m. (6 p.m. Barcelona time).
