Wednesday 1is January, the ax fell on so-called Crit'Air 3 vehicles. Diesel cars registered before 2011 and gasoline cars registered before 2006 must no longer drive in certain sectors of large cities called low-emission zones (ZFE). These mandatory rules apply in the country's densest metropolises: Paris and Lyon. Those of Montpellier and Grenoble have also decided to apply them, even though they were not required to comply with them due to an improvement in air quality recently.
