In January 2025, the Investment for Employment Facility (IFE) will launch a call for projects in Morocco. This call is aimed at private companies, as well as public and non-profit organizations, which wish to benefit from co-financing grants. Projects must be oriented towards job creation in the private sector, while providing opportunities to strengthen social protection systems.
Grant conditions and amounts
The subsidies awarded by the IFE range between 650,000 and 10 million euros per project. Projects combining job creation and social protection measures will benefit from particular preference. These measures may include:
- Access to enhanced social benefits, such as additional health or accident insurance, pension schemes or other social protections beyond legal requirements.
- Formalization of employment for workers in informal employment.
- Promoting women’s employment or facilitating a fair transition to a more climate-friendly economy.
Projects must be mature, but not yet launched, and present prospects of operational and financial viability.
Social protection and co-financing
In addition to job creation, the IFE offers temporary co-financing for social protection schemes. These measures must go beyond minimum legal standards and may include:
- Strengthened social coverage, such as supplementary health insurance or unemployment insurance.
- Social investments, such as the creation of kindergartens, health care centers or the adaptation of workplaces for people with disabilities.
- Other initiatives combining several of these measures.
How the application process works
The application phase will begin in January 2025. It will take place in two stages:
- A pre-selection based on concept notes submitted online.
- An invitation to successful applicants to submit detailed proposals, which will be evaluated before signing a grant contract.
The selection criteria will be published on the official website: invest-for-jobs.com. A Helpdesk will also be available to answer questions related to the application and funding.
